New Cedar Fencing

10 May

Our back fence has lasted us just about 10 years, but age and overgrown wisteria have taken their toll. We did some research and found a mill specializing in cedar fences, so we got in the Chevy and drove 5 hours to Vermont to collect 250 feet worth of a beautful fencing.

The experience was something to remember. The small mill buildings housed ancient machinery run by a group of bearded gentlemen, and the scent of cedar and saw dust filled the air.

Once back on the property, the fence installation took a good week to get up and there is still a bit more to do. Clearing out the overgrowth created a spacious new lawn area behind the cottages, which we can’t wait to grow in. The new fence offers a good amount of privacy for our guests, and the old fence will be recycled and used to keep maintance equiptment out of sight and out of mind.
